Black Sun
Black Sun as ‘Black Sun Machine’ was formed in Glasgow as a solo side project initially in the demise of the 20th Century by Russell McEwan. McEwan was joined by Guitarist/Vocalist Kevin Hare of Glasgow stoners ‘Lotus Lounge’ around the embryonic stages of Black Sun’s first album ‘Fleshmarket,’ released to critical acclaim on London’s Over Records. Soon after the release of this album McEwan moved back to the live drum kit and Graeme Leggate joined the band on Bass guitar. Black Sun spent a long time in the practice room in order to perfect their sound for the live environment. With a stable line-up, Black Sun set about infecting the UK with their particular brand of sonic filth. Website

Age of Taurus
Who better to give me a bio for Londoners 'Age of Taurus' than career breaker Fenriz from Darkthrone:
"Someone gave me their cd at the Metal Merchants Festival (I discovered when i emptied out my bag the day after). After listening, it was dead obvious that this would be the next band of the week, they play doom metal the way i like it, the 70's 80's style, not the dogmatic stuff that came later (when EVERYTHING is slow, what's up with THAT?!). So this band is for fans of Trouble, Revelation demo 2&3, 1st Candlemass, Black Sabbath/Pentagram and so forth" - Nuff said really. Website

Dopefight
Dopefight are a three-piece Sludge/Doom/Stoner band from Brighton, UK. Influences range from Bongzilla to Fudge Tunnel. To date they have released a Demo CD, Split EP and an Album - Buds.  Beer spilling riffs and thunderous drums, these guys are gonna help you get your sonic sway on.  The folks up in London have been lucky enough to witness them a couple of times already, so we're salivating at the thought of them tearing up Kingston. Groan
They say the signs have been obvious to us all yet we choose to ignore them. They say the gathering of the four music makers from the four corners of Albion will signal the coming of interesting times. Choosing to ignore such talk is akin to choosing to ignore the feeling of intense sensual overload when viewing Zooey Deschanel. Spaced out medieval heavy power fuzz rock is what they give you… Embrace it… turn off the TV and embrace… let your body and brain observe and digest the otherworldly. Website

Bast
Local lads representing Kingstons burgeoning Doom scene.  Loud intriniscal guitars and pummeling tribal drumming culminating in a blanket of anger and despair. Crushing thunderous vocals and black metal howls. Fans of Nachtmystium and Neurosis will welcome these riffs greedily in the front row.  Still only fairly new in the scheme of things they are beginning to make serious waves. Website

Rise of the Simians
Niceties are banished like Christian morality when Crowley uttered the edict 'Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law'. Guitars snaking in a hypnotic groove over the rumbling bass and metronymic yet complex drumming. Rise of the Simians would certainly crash your party, take over the stereo, scare the guests away and leave blim burns in your carpet.  Hastings is a nice place thou... Website
